Michigan Care Connect

For Health. For Independence. For GOOD.

A walker. A wheelchair. A brace. A shower chair. They may not sound life-changing, until you need one and can’t get it.

Jeff Niewierowski and Tim Herek saw this happen way too often while taking care of patients at their business, Peak Rehab. People needed medical equipment to remain safe, mobile and independent, but insurance approvals could take too long, or the equipment wasn’t covered at all.

So, Jeff and Tim did something about it. They started Michigan Care Connect, a new Bay City nonprofit that helps people across Michigan get the medical devices and care they need when financial barriers stand in the way.

At the end of 2025, Jolt gave $75,000 to 15 local nonprofits doing GOOD in the communities we serve. Michigan Care Connect was one of them, receiving $5,000 to help provide walkers, wheelchairs, braces, shower chairs and other medically necessary equipment.

Because investing in our communities can also be as simple as helping to give people the right device to restore safety, mobility and independence. And that can change everything.
