Jolt Presents: Cake a Difference with Kristin

It started as a birthday wish. Last year, Kristin, a dedicated and beloved volunteer at the East Side Soup Kitchen, asked her friends for cake mix donations instead of gifts to help bring some sweetness to the meals served there. Kristin shared that it took 33 cake mixes to serve one day’s worth of cake to people who visited the Soup Kitchen. Bridget, VP of Brand Engagement at Jolt and a friend of Kristin, loved the idea and immediately got Jolt involved! And as usual, staff and members went ALL IN to help by collecting cake mixes. In 2024, Jolt collected enough cake mixes to serve dessert to everyone for 200 days!

But this year, the need is greater than ever. With more people relying on the Soup Kitchen for a warm meal, it now takes 45 cake mixes to make sure everyone gets a slice.
